We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join the engineering team with us at Billiant in Gothenburg. 

Billiant BSS enables a feature-rich, future-proof billing and support system for mobile, fixed, broadband, and TV services. As a key team member, you will be crucial in designing and developing a diverse and advanced BSS platform. You will be involved from the initial stages of understanding our customers’ challenges through to the creation and implementation of effective solutions.

About the job 

In this role, you will face the exciting challenge of mastering the complexity of our application and making critical design decisions. Our platform handles large data sets, including millions of subscriptions and billions of events, necessitating meticulous design and implementation.

What makes this role particularly attractive is your extensive involvement in the design and development of new functionalities within our BSS. You will be able to work across various domains, gaining expertise in multiple areas. Our product leverages a wide range of technologies, and we are continually improving it with new innovations.

Collaboration with our customers is a key aspect of our work. You will be a vital part of the team, deeply engaged in the entire process—from understanding our customers' challenges to creating and implementing effective solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Solving complex technical challenges and steering the technological direction of our BSS services.

• Writing clean, testable, and efficient code

• Participating in code reviews and mentoring junior engineers

You will be based in our Gothenburg office and a part of our diverse and friendly team. The office, located close to the city center, is modern and contains a number of smaller office rooms where team members can work closely together. Easy access using public transport or car.

About you

To be successful in this role, you need a mix of technical skills, teamwork, and a desire to keep improving. We are looking for a self-driven problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges and finding creative solutions. You communicate well in English and can explain technical ideas clearly with a humble approach. You are eager to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.

You understand software engineering principles and have extensive experience with:

• Distributed Systems, Java, SQL, and RESTful APIs

• Experience from working in the SCRUM methodology

• REACT/Typescript

We seek someone who enjoys variety: within our small development team, you'll tackle issues across the entire product, though most developers specialize in one or two areas.
